What is QuantumBob?

QuantumBob is a game where you guess the outcomes of real quantum measurements (0 or 1) and compete against Alice, an AI that uses quantum entanglement to make her predictions. The quantum data comes from IBM's actual quantum processors.

How do I play?

Each game consists of 10 rounds. In each round, a quantum computer has already measured an entangled particle. You guess whether the result was 0 or 1, and then see if you were right. Alice is making the same guess using her linked particle. Try to beat her score!

Why does Alice usually win?

Alice uses a strategy based on quantum entanglement. Two particles were linked ("entangled") at the quantum level. Alice reads her particle and uses that information to predict yours. This quantum connection lets her reach about 85% accuracy, while the best any classical (non-quantum) strategy can achieve is 75%. The gap between these numbers is proof that quantum physics provides a real advantage.

Is this real quantum data?

Yes. The measurement data comes from IBM's Marrakesh quantum processor. Real entangled qubit pairs were measured and the results were recorded. The app replays these real measurements during gameplay.

Why am I scoring around 50%?

Without access to an entangled particle, you have no information about the measurement outcome. You are essentially guessing a coin flip, which averages to 50% over many rounds. This is expected! The game is designed to show the difference between your random guessing and Alice's quantum-powered strategy.

What is the "classical limit"?

The classical limit (75%) is the maximum accuracy any strategy can achieve without quantum entanglement. Even if you used the most sophisticated pattern-matching algorithm, you could not consistently beat 75%. Alice exceeds this because she has access to quantum correlations that are physically impossible to replicate classically.

Do I need an internet connection?

You need an internet connection for the initial download of quantum data (which happens automatically on first launch). After that, the data is cached on your device and you can play offline.
