Privacy policy

Effective October 5, 2026

This policy covers Frame Studio for iPhone and iPad, provided by SquatchCraft LLC, and explains the related support website. Questions: hello@squatchcraft.com.

The app does not have an account or tracking

Frame Studio has no account system, advertising, analytics SDK, or developer-operated image-upload service. We do not receive your in-app searches, favorites, selected photos, or TV pairing credentials through the app. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Information stored on your device

Favorites, preferences, the saved TV address, any previous slideshow recovery state, and identifiers for previously uploaded art are stored locally. The TV pairing token is stored in iOS Keychain with device-only protection. Downloaded artwork may be cached locally. Ordinary app preferences may be included in backups managed by your device settings; Frame Studio does not provide an account-based cloud sync service.

The app retains one local, undarkened copy of the last individually sent image so you can adjust its darkening without repeatedly degrading it. This copy is protected by iOS file protection and excluded from device backups. Remove it using Help & compatibility → Remove last image adjustment copy. Sending another individual image replaces or clears this copy.

Your photos and TV connection

The system photo picker gives the app access to images you select. Cropping, optional face-aware crop assistance, filters, and darkening are processed on your device. The app does not scan your entire photo library or send selected photos to an AI service.

When you ask to display an image, prepared images and control requests are sent directly to your TV over the local network. Images uploaded to the TV remain in its storage until removed there. Local Network permission is needed for this connection and can be revoked in iOS Settings. Older TV protocols may use an unencrypted local connection; use a trusted home network.

Exports use the system share sheet. Any app or service you choose there handles the exported image under its own policy.

Museums and other network providers

Artwork downloads contact museum image hosts and content delivery networks, including the Art Institute of Chicago, Cleveland Museum of Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, National Gallery of Art, and Wikimedia where used. These providers receive ordinary network information such as your IP address and the requested image URL. They do not receive your private photos or TV pairing token from Frame Studio. Links to museum records and other websites open under those providers’ privacy policies.

Support correspondence and this website

If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to answer your request and troubleshoot the issue, and retain correspondence only as needed for support and applicable recordkeeping obligations. Do not include credentials or private photographs. You may request deletion by emailing us; some records may need to be retained to meet legal obligations.

This site is hosted by GitHub Pages and uses Google Fonts. Those providers can receive your IP address and ordinary request information when you visit. These pages do not add advertising or analytics scripts. See GitHub’s privacy statement and Google’s privacy policy.

Apple purchases and diagnostics

Apple processes App Store purchases; we do not receive payment-card details. Apple may collect or share app diagnostics according to your device settings and its policies. Development and troubleshooting builds may keep diagnostic logs locally; the app does not automatically send them to us.

Your choices and deletion

Use Forget TV to remove the saved pairing token and address. Remove the last image adjustment copy in Help, remove favorites in the app, or delete the app to remove its local app-container data. Keychain items can survive app deletion, so forget the TV before uninstalling if you also want to clear its pairing. Delete TV-stored artwork separately using the TV’s controls. Revoke the app from the TV’s device connection list to revoke access there.

Children and policy changes

The app does not knowingly collect children’s personal information through an account or tracking service. If a child sends personal information to support, contact us to request deletion. Museum art may include artistic nudity; the app’s store age rating describes its content.

If our practices change, we will update this page and its effective date. Contact hello@squatchcraft.com with questions or privacy requests.
